A thorough eye test is recommended every two years. It may be free if you have PRSI or Medical Card cover. In addition to getting your best possible vision and glasses prescription, we do many other important checks on eye health, such as screening for signs of eye diseases such as cataracts, AMD, and glaucoma; screening for ocular manifestations of general health problems (eg: in high blood pressure and diabetes); and eye muscle function assessments.

Contact lens wearers are advised to have a check-up every year to ensure your lens wearing habits are not damaging your eye health. If you are not content with your current lens type we are delighted to discuss your options and to source free trial lenses until we find the perfect lens for you.

If you possess a valid Medical Card you may be completely covered for an eye examination and a specific range of glasses every two years. Expenses outside this range must be covered by the patient. Authorisation must be received before testing can be carried out. PRSI workers may also be covered for an eye examination every two years.
